I am honored to be able to share an ultra-special guest mix on the first hour from the incredibly talented singer and pianist, Nami Hotatsu @nami_hotatsu. ✨ I cannot thank Nami enough for the hard work and generous amount of time she put into crafting “Ultra-Hyper Ritual Mix,” which features original works and unreleased tracks both as a solo artist and from aurora argentea, her collaborative project with her husband, the world renowned shō player Ko Ishikawa (@aurora_argentea). 💠 The structure of her mix is modeled after ancient Japanese rituals and customs, which you’ll learn more about in the broadcast. On the second hour, I’ve created a mix inspired by my correspondence with Nami about the Japanese Obon custom, which honors the spirits of one’s ancestors and loved ones. I was also moved by the memories of our beloved black cats, Chelsea & Jean, who are no longer with us in this earthly realm but continue to live on in our hearts.
